“Mrs. Martin Knecht Sr., died at her home in Washington C. H. Thursday at noon following an attack of apoplexy, with which she was stricken last Friday evening. Beside her husband she leaves to mourn her loss six children: Martin Knecht Jr. of Xenia; Mrs. E. C. Milligan, Columbus; Mrs. C. A. Hirsch, Chillicothe; Clarence of Jeffersonville, O.; Mrs. Edgar Tillis of Washington C. H., and Mary at home. She also leaves four sisters: Mrs. W. A. Leffler, Mrs. Eva Caldwell of this city; Mrs. A. G. Oyer of Waverly and Mrs. Homer Groves of Powers, Oregon; three brothers: Philip and Adam Uhrig of this city, John of Columbus, and thirteen grandchildren. Mrs. Knecht was born Jan. 2, 1864, a daughter Mr. and Mrs. John Uhrig of West Scioto township, Ross county, Ohio. She was married to Martin Knecht, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Knecht of this city, Dec. 4, 1884, and lived all her life in Ross county with the exception of the past fourteen years. She was a member of the Methodist church at Washington C. H., where the funeral will be held Sunday morning at 9 o’clock. Interment in Grandview cemetery, this city.”
